From here, the view extends as far as the fertile lands that cling onto the Arcos crag. It is more than just mere landscape, representing the hallmark of centuries of work, where nature and people have found a balance. Below, the Guadalete River continues to flow downstream, nourishing these lands and giving life to the vegetable gardens. Its air is permeated with the smell of blossom in springtime, while in winter the fields take on an orangey tinge. The orange trees, with their shiny leaves and golden fruits, have acted as the lifeblood and tradition in their bond with Arcos’ history. Each harvest reminds us of the generosity with which the land treats us, powered by the river and the hard toil of its people. From this point, life in Arcos does not solely rise above its crag, moreover it grows at its feet, in the richness of its soils. Take one last look so that this image stays with you: the river, the croplands, the orange groves.., the promise of thankful lands.
